Help shape the future of care in Cornwall

Corserv exists to make a real difference to people’s lives. As a group of businesses wholly owned by Cornwall Council, we combine a strong public service ethos with commercial expertise to deliver vital services that support communities, protect the environment and care for some of the most vulnerable people in Cornwall. We are driven by purpose, proud of our public ownership, and ambitious about the role that high‑quality, innovative care services can play in building stronger, healthier communities.

We are now seeking a Non‑Executive Director with significant experience in health and social care to join our Board and play a key role in shaping the future of Corserv’s care services at a time of both challenge and opportunity.

The opportunity

This is a meaningful, high‑impact role for someone who is motivated by public service and social value, and who brings insight from operating at a senior level within adult social care, community health, or related regulated services.

As a Non‑Executive Director, you will provide constructive challenge, strategic insight and oversight, helping to ensure that Corserv continues to deliver high‑quality, safe, and financially sustainable care services, while remaining innovative and responsive to local needs.

Working closely with fellow Non‑Executives and the Executive team, you will contribute to:

  • Long‑term strategy and transformation of care services

  • Quality, safety and regulatory assurance

  • Financial sustainability and value for money

  • Responsible use of technology and innovation in care delivery

  • Strong governance, risk management and ethical leadershipWho we are looking for

We are keen to hear from individuals who bring:

  • Senior leadership experience in health and/or social care (executive or non‑executive)

  • A strong understanding of care quality, regulation and commissioning

  • Experience of leading or overseeing services through complex change

  • Commercial and financial awareness within a regulated or publicly funded context

  • The confidence to provide constructive challenge, balanced with collaboration and support

Previous board experience is welcome but not essential; what matters most is sound judgement, strategic thinking, integrity, and a commitment to improving outcomes for people who draw on care and support.

Why join Corserv?

By joining the Corserv Board, you will:

  • Contribute to services that directly improve lives across Cornwall

  • Help shape how publicly owned care services evolve for the future

  • Work alongside committed, skilled leaders and Board colleagues

  • Influence an organisation that reinvests surpluses for public benefit, not private profit
